This Coaching Bullshit is Broken
.... and I'm going to fix it
I never planned on becoming a mentor. I certainly never planned on calling out the nonsense that’s everywhere in retail coaching. But after nearly 40 years in the industry, I got tired of seeing good businesses struggle while so-called “gurus” sold them overpriced, half-baked solutions with no backbone of any substance and honestly strategies that would struggle to keep your chia hot in a chocolate tea pot!
I have literally sat at every seat of the table in retail, food retailing and food service! Other coaches, courses, mentors, advisors usually come from only 1 angle of the business, and its usually based on running a store, or online business for 5 or so whatever years! OR (worse) They just regurgitate shit they were taught by their coach, hypothesized theories that just don’t work in real life!
But – all that is only 1 PART of the WHOLE thing…. I’ve had YEARS – YEARS in the biz 40+ years….. and I can see ALL ANGLES, ALL FACETS… how each deciding factor affects other parts of the business because I held a seat at every aspect of that table!, and here’s what I know:
- 👉 Most business advice and strategies are made for service-based businesses, not product-based ones.
- 👉 There is waayyy too many coaches and guru's who've built one (and only one!) successful business and now charge you a fortune to learn their “magic formula” or that "one secret"
- 👉 Course creators hide the real information behind $10,000+ price tags—then give you just enough to realise you need more.
- 👉 As a retailer and product-based business owner, you don’t need more theory, You need ACTION.
- 👉 You don't have the funds to commit to a coach, especially if you haven't even paid yourself yet!
- 👉 And, you definitely do not have the time to spend hours learning new concepts that may not even work in your business!
Am I right?
And that’s why I'm doing things differently.
